SP500 (Standard & Poor's 500)

The S&P 500, or Standard & Poor's 500, is an American stock market index based on the market capitalizations of 500 large companies having common stock listed on the NYSE, NASDAQ, or the Cboe BZX Exchange. The index includes a diverse range of industries and is widely regarded as one of the best representations of the U.S. stock market and a bellwether for the U.S. economy. The index's constituents are selected by a committee and are weighted by market capitalization. The S&P 500 is used as a benchmark for the overall market and is heavily used in mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
