ZMW (Zambian Kwacha)
The Zambian kwacha, abbreviated as ZMW, is Zambia's official currency. Subdivided into 100 ngwee, its symbol is ZK. "Kwacha" translates to "dawn" in several local languages, while "ngwee" means "bright." Introduced in 1968 to replace the Zambian pound, the initial exchange rate was 2 kwacha for 1 pound. Currently, the exchange rate stands at about 23.14 kwacha per 1 USD.
